Robert arrived in this country in 1993, moving from the Garden Parish of Jamaica (ST. Ann) to the Garden State. At the time, Robert lived in East Orange and decided to enroll at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, (NJIT) where he pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on structural and environmental engineering. Upon graduating in 1997, Robert decided to venture out on his own and moved to Houston, Texas, where he worked for the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) writing operation manuals and providing fire protection services for offshore oil drilling platforms. Always wanting to pursue a career in structural engineering, he enrolled in the graduate program at the University of Houston and obtained a Master of Science Degree in 2000.
Upon receiving his graduate degree, he requested a transfer to the Structural Engineering Department at ABS and worked in that department for almost a year. He moved back to New Jersey in January 2001 and landed a job with Paulus Sokolowski and Sartor (PS&S) where he worked for 20 years and eventually became a senior lead structural engineer for a wide range of public works, mix use, commercial, educational, industrial, and infrastructure projects. He has extensive experience working and coordinating with all engineering disciplines and architects. His experience also includes condition assessments and remedial design due to deteriorated or distressed conditions. He also has extensive experience in responding to and servicing on-call type scopes of work; with great attention paid to effective communication, time management, and management of technical resources appropriate for a given task.
Joining forces with two exceptional partners, Kustera, Bernard & Fox Engineering D.P.C. Inc. (KB&F) was founded in 2021 in which all their past experiences will come to bear to make this a successful enterprise. KB&F’s goal is to satisfy our clients’ needs and expectations with quality work and effective communication.
